From the Principal - Ofsted
As you are all aware, the school underwent an Ofsted inspection from
15-19 November. There were 20 inspectors in school looking at every
department and every aspect of the school's work. You can appreciate
that it was a very stressful time for one and all.
However, I am pleased to inform everybody that we came out with a splended
report. The team cited us as a good school with many very good features
and examples of
outstanding practice. They
said
that
the
teaching was
very good and a particular strength in the Sixth Form. In fact, they
were very impressed by the sixth form as a whole. You will be pleased
to know that they thought your sons/daughters were wonderful. They gave
them an excellent grade for behaviour and attitude, saying that their
commitment enhanced the learning in school. I am sure, like us, you will
be very proud of them. Finally, the team said that there was nothing
unsatifactory in the school and that we give value for money.
You will appreciate how hard the staff worked for this excellent commendation.
I know the teaching in this school is very good but it is very rewarding
when outsiders confirm your views. Both the staff and pupils deserve
the praise they received and it only serves to uphold my confidence in
them.
